A readable view of a BindingInfo export
BizTalk binding files describe how an application is wired up: receive ports and locations, send ports, pipelines, orchestration bindings, hosts and parties. As raw XML they are long, and much of the useful detail (adapter properties, pipeline configuration, subscription filters) is stored as escaped XML inside other elements.
The Binding Viewer is a custom editor for VS Code. It parses the export, expands the embedded XML, and shows the result as cards you can browse, search and filter.
What you can see
| Area | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Overview | Binding status, endpoint counts, and the applications, adapters, orchestration states and hosts in the file. |
| Receive ports and send ports | Locations, addresses, adapters, handlers, schedules, adapter properties, delivery settings and subscription filters. |
| Pipelines | Pipeline stages, the components in each stage, and their configured properties. |
| Orchestrations, parties, assemblies | Orchestration state, host, tracking and port bindings; party aliases and certificates; deployed assemblies. |
How it treats your files
- Read-only: the viewer never changes the file. Use Open XML to see or edit the source in VS Code's text editor.
- Local: the file is parsed inside VS Code. The extension makes no network calls.
- Sensitive values hidden: adapter and pipeline component properties whose names look like passwords, secrets, tokens, keys or connection strings are shown as Sensitive value hidden.
- Live: the view refreshes when the underlying document changes.
