Using the schemas

Use the schemas in Azure Logic Apps with the HL7 v2 Codec, or in any XML tool.

Azure Logic Apps (Standard)

The schemas in Artifacts/Schemas are deployed with your app and can be used by the XML actions (Validate XML, Transform XML maps, XPath) once the HL7 message is in XML. For example, decode it with the HL7 v2 Codec, which reads exactly this naming and picks the schema from MSH-9 and MSH-12.

  • Several versions in one folder: versioned roots (ADT_A01_251) let the codec choose by MSH-12.
  • Maps and XPath: declare the root namespace with a prefix; child elements are unqualified, for example string(/*/PID/PID_5_PatientName/XPN_0_FamilyName/FN_0_Surname).

Anywhere else

Each file is a standard, self-contained XSD with no includes, so any XML editor, validator or code generator can load it.
