Developer licenses are free. Production traffic is paid.
| License | What the gateway accepts | Term |
|---|---|---|
| Developer (free) | Test and debug messages only: MSH-11 = T or D, and X12 test interchanges (ISA-15 = T). Production messages (P) get an AR (X12: a TA1) that says a production license is needed. | 90 days, renew any time |
| Trial (free, once per organization) | All traffic | 30 days |
| Production | All traffic, all of your environments | 1 year |
| Enterprise | All traffic, on custom terms | As agreed |
Get and install a token
- 1Sign in and save your organization profile.
Open Licensing on lambogenius.com.
- 2Get a license.
Get a free developer license, start the 30-day trial, or contact sales for production.
- 3Select Generate gateway license token
on the license card and copy the token. It is shown once and isn't stored.
- 4Give it to the gateway.
Paste it into the admin console under Install token (a cluster shares it with every node), or set the environment variable
LAMBOGENIUS_LICENSE.LAMBOGENIUS_LICENSE_FILE, orfileunder[license], can name a file holding it instead.
How the check works
- Offline: the token is checked against a public key built into the gateway. Nothing is sent to Lambogenius. A new token takes effect within 5 minutes, without a restart.
- Expiry: the license keeps working for a grace period after it expires (7 days for developer licenses, 14 for the others), with warnings in the log and the console. Generate a new token after each renewal.
- Without a valid license: every new message gets an AR that explains why. Messages already queued are still delivered, and the admin console keeps working, so you can install a token.
- Separate from the Logic Apps connectors: gateway tokens don't unlock the HL7 connectors for Azure Logic Apps, and connector tokens don't unlock the gateway.
