Common problems

The viewer isn't offered in Open With…
The viewer is offered for .xml and .esb files only. Check the file extension, that VS Code is 1.85 or later, and that the extension is enabled.
The panel says “Loading ESB document…”
The document is empty, or the panel hasn't received it yet. Close and reopen the file with the viewer.
I can't type in the panel
The viewer is read-only. Reopen the file with the Text Editor to edit it.
The file opens as text every time
That's expected: the viewer is optional. Choose it with Open With…, or configure it as the default editor for a pattern.
