Links and functoids

How each link row reads, and what the viewer shows for a functoid.

One row per link

Each link on the selected page is a row: where it starts, the link ID, and where it ends. The sample map on Schemas and pages shows as:

OrderId Link 1 → OrderRef
Order / OrderId Invoice / OrderRef

Customer Link 2 → Functoid 107
Order / Customer Constants: (customer)

Functoid 107 Link 3 → BillTo
Constants: (customer) Invoice / BillTo

Schema nodes

In the .btm, a link end that is a schema node is an XPath such as /*[local-name()='<Schema>']/*[local-name()='Order']/*[local-name()='OrderId']. The viewer shows the node name in bold (OrderId) and the path below it (Order / OrderId). Hover the name to see the full XPath.

Functoids

When a link starts or ends at a functoid, that side shows a functoid card instead:

  • Functoid number: the Functoid-FID, which identifies the functoid type (or the functoid's ID on the page when the FID is missing).
  • Constants: the values of the functoid's constant input parameters.
  • Scripts: for Scripting functoids, the script language and the script code.

A chain such as node → functoid → functoid → node appears as several rows, one per link. Follow the functoid number from one row to the next. A functoid with no constants and no script shows Source connector or Target connector.

What the viewer does not show

The viewer lists links. It does not draw the schema trees or the grid, and it does not name functoid types: it shows the functoid number from the file. Functoids that have no links on a page are counted in the header but don't get a row.
